The CES Innovation Awards, the show's annual honors for design and engineering, are getting a category nobody would have predicted a few years ago. CTA has introduced Art Tech, created in partnership with the auction house Christie's.
The category spans technology that protects cultural heritage, such as 3D scanning, digital twins and AI-assisted conservation, along with tools for authentication, valuation and commerce, including provenance tracking, blockchain ownership platforms and pricing analytics.
For AI hardware makers, the opening is real: imaging rigs, scanners and AI analysis tools that once lived in labs now have a consumer-facing showcase. CTA says submissions for the awards are open.
Honorees are traditionally revealed ahead of the show, which makes the awards list one of the best early signals of what will be on the floor in January.
