Open WebUI + Ollama: The AI Platform You Actually Live In
ChatGPT at home, without the rent. The platform layer of a home AI server is not the GPU. It is the tab you open instead of a cloud chatbot.
Hardware is the toy. The platform is the habit. Open WebUI in front of Ollama (or vLLM, or a Spark NIM endpoint) is how a DGX, a Studio, or a noisy mini PC becomes “the house AI.” Users, chats, RAG folders, and a URL on the LAN beat a terminal window you forget how to restart.
InteliToys covers platforms because “AI related adult toys to make computing more fun and efficient” includes the software appliance. A Pi 5 with Open WebUI is a toy. A Spark with the same UI is a department. The interface is what your family will judge.
Stack we keep seeing in Gear Junkies: Ollama or llama.cpp for weights, Open WebUI for humans, Home Assistant for voice, and a reverse proxy so you are not port-forwarding 8080 to the world like it is 2014.
InteliToys is editorial. We do not sell Open WebUI / Ollama Open WebUI. Watch the source tape in the branded lightbox below, then argue about it in Gear Junkies.
