Voice assistants from the big platforms send what you say to the cloud. The Home Assistant Voice Preview Edition is designed to give owners a choice.
The small speaker connects with one USB-C cable and a setup wizard, with no assembly, and handles commands such as turning on lights or the TV. It is built specifically for Home Assistant, so it can reach every device the system already controls.
Nabu Casa calls it a preview because the voice platform is still developing quickly, and buyers are helping shape it.
Pair it with Home Assistant Green and a capable local AI computer and you have a fully private alternative to commercial smart speakers.
