The Mac mini has quietly become a favorite home server for AI hobbyists, and Apple is now leaning into that reputation.
The new model comes with the M6 chip or the M5 Pro. Apple says both have more CPU cores and stronger GPUs with hardware ray tracing, and a Neural Accelerator inside each GPU core speeds up on-device AI models.
It is still five inches square, with ports on the front and back, faster unified memory, up to 2x faster storage, 2.5Gb Ethernet, Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 6. Apple pitches it as a platform for everything from Siri AI to running your own agentic workflows.
