Otto Wants to Be the Computer Your AI Agents Live On

Most people meet AI agents in a browser tab that disappears when the laptop lid closes. Otto, from The Tokenry, Inc., bets that agents need a permanent home of their own: a purpose-built box that sits on a shelf and keeps working while its owner sleeps.
The company is blunt about the pitch. Otto is not a Mac mini and not a virtual machine; it is sold as an agent computer designed "from silicon to software," running Otto OS, an open-source runtime that ships preconfigured and kept up to date.
The interesting part is the plumbing. A gateway layer handles spending caps and per-agent limits and decides when a task runs on a local model versus a cloud model. A credential system called Passkey advertises more than 2,000 ready-made connections, including GitHub, Slack, Gmail, Notion and Google Drive, with one-tap authorization rather than command-line tokens. Two more features are marked coming soon: a dedicated email address and phone number for each agent, and virtual payment cards so every agent's spending is tracked separately.
Everything is managed from a phone app that pairs with the device, deploys agents and shows spending live. That last detail matters: as agents start booking, buying and filing on their owners' behalf, a hard budget per agent may be the feature that makes people comfortable leaving them on.
Otto is taking orders now on its website. Expect the always-on home agent box to be one of the hotter categories heading into CES 2027 in January.
