Plaud announced on November 1 that its NotePin S wearable AI recorder has been named one of TIME's Best Inventions of 2026, recognized in the Consumer Electronics category. According to Plaud, TIME highlights 300 inventions each year that it believes are making the world better, smarter, and more useful, and NotePin S is among this year's selections.

Plaud says TIME described NotePin S as "a small stenographer" — a compact wearable that can be pinned to clothing or worn on a necklace, quietly capturing and transcribing conversations at the press of a button. The company says TIME also highlighted how Plaud's AI turns those conversations into useful summaries through customizable templates, whether someone is in a lecture hall, a doctor's office, or another real-world setting.

Plaud frames the recognition as validation of the idea behind the device. The company says some of the most valuable information is still exchanged through conversation — ideas in meetings, decisions made between colleagues, insights from a class — and that capturing those moments often means dividing attention between listening and documenting. According to Plaud, NotePin S was designed around a different premise: that technology should help people engage more deeply with the world around them rather than pull them away from it. The company says the small, wearable form lets users capture conversations and spoken thoughts naturally, then use Plaud AI to structure that information into notes, summaries, insights, and next steps.

In announcing the recognition, Plaud CEO and Co-founder Nathan Xu said: "We believe some of our most valuable information still lives in conversation. Our goal is to make that intelligence accessible and useful, while giving people the freedom to stay focused on the moment itself."

Plaud says the power of NotePin S is not only in capturing a conversation but in helping make sense of what comes next. The company notes that TIME specifically highlighted Plaud's growing template ecosystem, and says that earlier this year Plaud launched the Template Community, which allows users to create and share templates designed around specific professions, workflows, and needs. According to Plaud, that community reflects a larger belief behind the company: the best AI tools should adapt to the people using them. Plaud says a lawyer, engineer, student, physician, founder, or researcher may all capture conversations, but what each person needs from those conversations afterward can look completely different.

Plaud calls the inclusion an important milestone for NotePin S, and says it represents something broader for the company. According to Plaud, more than 2.5 million people worldwide have used Plaud products since 2023. The company says its ambition continues to grow beyond AI note-taking toward building a real-world AI interface that can capture, structure, and compound the intelligence generated in everyday conversations. Plaud says the recognition is meaningful validation of that direction, and of the teams that worked to make NotePin S useful, intuitive, and easy to integrate into everyday life.
