XREAL has spent years making display glasses for watching movies on planes. AURA is the company's bid to turn them into a real spatial computer.
The optics are the headline: a 70-degree see-through view, the company's widest to date, with 3ms motion-to-photon latency and native 3DoF tracking that keeps screens anchored as you move. The lenses offer five levels of electrochromic dimming, and any 2D content can be converted into 3D with no setup.
AURA runs Android XR, so the Google Play catalog of phone and tablet apps comes along. Control comes from hand gestures, a touchpad on the compute puck or Bluetooth accessories.
Pricing starts at $1,099 through the end of the year, and XREAL says early buyers will be refunded the difference from the original price.
